Your first week

When you get started at Macquarie University, you’ll be invited to complete several formal and informal inductions and orientations. These may include:

  • A Macquarie University induction where you learn about the Macquarie story, purpose, values, vision and priorities. Ensure you bring evidence of your working rights and your superannuation form with you for the induction.
  • Informal inductions to your local work area, including an introduction to your colleagues and your office space.
  • Online learning courses designed to guide you through various responsibilities in your work. These are required to be completed in your first few weeks at Macquarie.
  • A guided campus tour where you’ll get a better understanding of where everything’s located.

You will also receive the relevant equipment and your campus card.

Note: For casual academic staff, your department administrator or faculty learning and teaching team will inform you of the specific induction requirements around teaching, administration and meeting with the relevant unit convenor.
