The following grant schemes will be available in 2017:

  • strategic priority grant scheme
  • the revised Macquarie University Learning, Technologies and Spaces (MQLTS) scheme which is replacing the former Strategic Infrastructure Scheme (MQSIS)
  • Macquarie University undergraduate conference funding (MQUCF) for undergraduate students only

Faculties and offices can apply for funding for two projects under the strategic priority and the MQLTS schemes. Collaborative projects across faculties and offices are encouraged and will not count towards the limit.

Strategic priority grant scheme

The strategic priority grant scheme funds projects that align with the priorities outlined in the Learning and Teaching strategic framework and faculty learning and teaching plans.

If you would like to apply, liaise with your faculty Associate Dean or Director who will work with you in recommending which projects will be developed for presentation to the assessment panel.

Learning, technologies and spaces (MQLTS) scheme

The revised scheme funds projects and/or purchases that align with the Learning Technologies and Spaces Roadmap.

If you would like to apply, liaise with your faculty Associate Dean or Director who will work with you in recommending which projects will be developed for presentation to the assessment panel.

Macquarie University undergraduate conference funding (MQUCF)

The MQUCF aims to support undergraduate students who have been successfully accepted to present at the annual Australasian Conference of Undergraduate Research (ACUR).

In 2017, the Office of Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) Learning and Teaching and the Dean (Higher Degree Research), will fund up to five research undergraduates from across the University to attend and present at the ACUR conference, providing up to a maximum of $1,000 to each of the successful applicants.

Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit your application to the Office of PVC via pvclt@mq.edu.au no later than 16 August 2017.

Teaching index

Teaching index will no longer continue due to major changes to criteria types (including the closure of the OLT and discontinuation of L&T Week).

A similar budget will be set-aside to support week one tutorial preparation for Session 1 and 2 in 2018 and will be managed at the faculty level.

Faculties and departments can also apply for a six month strategic priority grant to support learning and teaching scholarship and professional development activities that would have been otherwise funded from teaching index.
