Through our teaching and research, we seek to address some of the major challenges in relation to business, employment and workforce development, leadership, sustainability and social inclusion. Our multi-disciplinary profile helps us undertake challenge-based research in collaboration with public, private and not-for-profit sector organisations.

Head of Department
Professor Grant Michelson
Grant Michelson is Head/Chair of the Department of Marketing and Management at Macquarie University. He has previously served as Associate Dean of Research and Higher Degrees in the Faculty of Business and Law at ECU in Perth and had strategic oversight of the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2015 submission which saw significant improvement in key areas such as marketing, tourism, and business and management.

Employee support and safety

It is important to be aware of our Safety at work policies, as well as the University's wellbeing services that range from employment support to childcare.
Macquarie University’s health and safety policy ensures a safe work and study environment for both students and staff. Staff are encouraged to read our health and safety requirements should they need to report an incident or hazard. All staff are required to complete the Health & Safety Induction modules.
