iPhone - Overseas Use - Guidelines

Most iPhones are designed to give you easy email access on the move. However, they can be configured in email 'push' or 'pull' mode.  In push mode, emails are sent to your mobile automatically without any action required by you. These uploads and/or downloads incur data charges. In pull mode, emails are only received when your iPhone checks for new messages, which it usually does at specific intervals.

For example, your mobile may be set up to check for new emails every five minutes. Establishing each data session, along with any emails uploaded and/or downloaded as a result, will incur data charges.
