Once you've gained the approval to recruit and prepared for the recruitment process, you can proceed with advertising.

Prepare and publish job advertisement

HR will work with the hiring manager to prepare a job ad and will arrange internal and external advertising as required. See Sourcing Applicants for more information on advertising channels.

Advertising timeframes:

  • Academic positions are generally advertised for 4 weeks.
  • Professional positions are generally advertised for 2 weeks.

Manage applications

All applications should be submitted via the online recruitment system Talent.

Where applicants have difficulties accessing Talent due to, for example, disability or remote location, they can contact the enquiries person listed in the ad for assistance.

Hiring managers can access applications via Talent.

It is good practice to review the applications as they are received and assess the quality of the candidate pool. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the candidate pool, you may wish to revise the advertising strategy or extend the closing date to increase the number of suitable applicants.

Any applications received directly by the hiring manager should be forwarded to HR to be recorded in Talent.

Late applications can only be accepted at the discretion of the hiring manager.
