The Media and Communications team is focused on showcasing the University's achievements, opinions, research, events and human interest stories in channels that have strong impact with our various audiences.
We will assess all requests with prioritisation of support going to those with the strongest news value, ideally in line with the University's vision, goals, learning and teaching and research priorities. Our ability to maximise the coverage for your story depends on how much notice you give (ideally at least a week) and how clearly the new and interesting parts of your work can be expressed. For academics seeking media coverage of papers, we encourage you to complete this request when the paper has been accepted to be published and we can work with the information under embargo to coincide with the release of the paper.
All requests will be assessed by the Communications team who will contact you after review. In addition to assessing the story for media potential we will also review it for This Week and social media.
