Working with the Events team

Events play a vital role in showcasing the University, our research and achievements; enhancing the student experience; attracting new students, researchers, partners and supporters. The University’s Events and Domestic Protocol (EDP) Unit develops, manages and produces events that are directly aligned to the University’s strategic priorities.

In collaboration, we aspire to:

  • produce high-quality events that are impactful and resonate with audiences
  • work as trusted partners to achieve shared success
  • leverage industry best practice, expertise and knowledge

Please refer to the University Events Policy for details on the criteria for a strategic event, the event planning process and how we can support your event.

If you do not require assistance from the EDP team but would like information about how to run a Successful event, please refer to our Events Toolkit section for useful links and resources.

EDP is always here to help and advise the campus community so please make contact if you have any questions or need any guidance. Contact your Events Partner.

Events registrations & communications

Event communications is provided when engaging the Events team to assist with your event.

A communications plan is important to ensure we are attracting the right audiences to University events, and that all event communications adhere to the Shared ID brand guidelines.

The University uses an event management system for event websites, email invitations, online event registration and payments, post-event surveys and other technology tools to help run successful events.

Contact your Events Partner who will work with you to determine which communication channels and system features are appropriate for your event. This may include tailoring communications to different invitee groups, developing content-rich event websites and discussing registration options.
