Venues and catering

There are a range of venue options available for hosting University events, including purpose built function and conference spaces, as well as other facilities that can be booked across campus.

A number of catering options are also available to service a wide-range of needs, including drop-off catering for meetings and more casual occasions, and event catering for conferences, banquet dinners, cocktail parties and awards nights.

Contact your events partner to discuss your requirements. They will advise you on the available options to suit your event needs and budget.

Conference rooms


The University has five purpose built conference rooms located on Level 3, Building C7A. Each conference room can be used individually, or opened into a larger event space that can be transformed to suit a range of event needs. The rooms have state of the art audio visual equipment, are climate-controlled and contain adjustable lighting providing full control of the ambience and event experience.

These rooms are ideal for formal events requiring specialised setups, and those with external guests and VIPs in attendance.

Event catering

Hundreds of events are held on campus every year that require catering, from staff and student barbecues, to large scale conferences, and prestigious awards nights.

Macquarie prides itself on hosting events of the highest standard, no matter what the format or scale.

Events and Domestic Protocol have partnered with Forte Catering and Events to provide event catering services for the University. Forte is a premium caterer and food creator for some of the largest and most prestigious events in Sydney. With a passion for exquisite cuisine, and a dedication to professional service, Forte has established itself as one of Sydney’s leading culinary experts.

All event catering is organised through the Events and Domestic Protocol team. Please contact your events partner to discuss your event catering needs.

Drop off catering

Catering Project is the University’s preferred supplier for drop-off catering.  Catering is delivered direct to your location in disposable packaging.

Catering Project offers an extensive range of catering menu options. More than 100 ‘catering collections’ are available, including a beverage collection. Nutritious mini food creations – designed to appeal to every palate, dietary requirement and location – are assembled in disposable, recyclable cardboard boxes. Specific catering requests are also welcome.

Be sure to also include in your order what disposable cutlery and serviettes are required.

How to place an order with Catering Project

You can place an order for delivered catering by phoning Catering Project on (02) 9251 2120, by emailing or by ordering online.

How do I place an order online?

First, you need to create an online profile. You can do this before or when placing your first order with Catering Project. You need to provide work-related information such as your name, phone number, delivery/invoice address and email address. Catering Project will then set up a personal profile with the contact information you entered as an employee of Macquarie University.

You will receive a confirmation email from Catering Project with your username and a prompt for you to create a password.

What are the benefits of ordering online?

You can view prices for Macquarie staff, place orders at any time of day or night, view past orders and order your favourite collections.

What are the conditions for late orders?

Please be aware that orders for delivered catering are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from Catering Project.

Online orders for delivered catering are required by 3pm on the business day before you require catering delivered. Catering Project will always try to accommodate late orders where possible.

Is there a delivery fee?

Yes, but there is free delivery for orders over $100.

For orders between $50 and $100, a delivery fee of $20 will apply; for orders under $50, a delivery fee of $40 will apply.

Can I order catering for specific dietary requirements?

Yes, Catering Project caters for a wide range of dietary requirements. When placing your order online, dietary sensitivities will be marked in separate boxes with custom-designed dietary stickers.

How do I pay the invoice?

All invoices are to be sent to for payment. If you are ordering from an entity (eg: U@MQ, Access Macquarie), please advise Catering Project when setting up your account so that the invoices are sent to you and not to Macquarie University Accounts Payable.

How do I make any urgent changes to my catering order?

When will the tea and coffee equipment be picked up?

When placing an order that includes a request for tea and coffee, specify the date and the time that the equipment can be collected. If Catering Project is unable to collect the equipment at that time, please organise for it to be kept in an accessible location such as a kitchenette.
