Strategic research framework
Macquarie University’s strategic research framework has been developed to guide our research trajectory over the next ten years.
The framework provides objectives, goals and priorities, establishes targets and outlines supporting strategies, while maintaining respect for the principle of academic freedom and scholarship.
With a view to make Macquarie a global leader in research, the framework provides us with five overarching research focus areas: healthy people, resilient societies, prosperous economies, secure planet and innovative technologies.
It also provides us with key research objectives: to accelerate world-leading research performance, to prepare world-ready higher degree research candidates, to engage as a world recognised research collaborator of choice and to deliver research with world-changing impact.
The framework also encourages continued collaboration with industries, governments, communities and academic colleagues internationally, to help strengthen our cross-disciplinary knowledge and improve the ongoing practical application of our research.
