Supervisors enhancement program

Supervisors enhancement program

The Supervision Enhancement Program is designed to help Supervisors understand HDR supervision as an extension of teaching. The program draws on best practice in learning, teaching, supervising and researching to help you become a better supervisor and researcher.

The program has two components: an initial workshop and an annual update workshop.

The initial workshop is designed to introduce supervisors to Macquarie's approach to supervisory practices. All new supervisors, including Co- and Adjunct, must complete the initial workshop to be recognised on the Macquarie University Supervision Register (MQSR). When MQSR recognition does not apply, supervisors will be given a Statement of Completion.

Annual update workshops focus on particular issues and debates within HDR supervision. All supervisors must complete one update workshop per year, but are welcome to complete more.

The Supervision Enhancement program offers HDR Supervisors choice, accessibility and personalisation. The Initial Supervision Enhancement Program is fully online and self-directed. The annual update program is offered via workshops, evidence-producing self-directed learning, and open learning.
