Biosafety and Biosecurity

Making bold discoveries means researchers need to work with hazardous materials.

For more information about how we ensure these materials are minimised, managed and disposed of correctly, refer to the Biosafety, biosecurity and gene technology information page on www.mq.edu.au

At Macquarie University,  biosafety applications are required for all research, teaching or services that involve the use of biological materials. The Institutional Biosafety Committee reviews applications between 1 February and 30 November annually.

For more information relating to submitting biosafety applications and managing approved projects, please refer to the Biosafety Management support page.
