iLearn is Macquarie's new Learning Management System from semester 1 2012.  The iLearn web site has a variety of resources to help staff.  The best place to start is the Quick Guides page

Blackboard

From semester 1 2012 learn.mq (Blackboard) was replaced by iLearn. Blackboard will still be used by MGSM until later in 2012, and is only available to other staff for file retrieval purposes. All other online units will be delivered through iLearn (see above).

  • Assessment Toolkit is part of a series of short, focused resources on learning and teaching being produced by the Learning & Teaching Centre. The resources are designed to help you implement effective assessment in your teaching.
  • 'How to Lead Discussions' [PDF - 1MB] is a guide to some of the best techniques for engaging students in active learning, improving their communication and argumentation skills, and getting them to participate in class debates and discussions. This booklet was developed by the Division of Economics and Finance (now the Faculty of Business and Economics) in conjunction with the LTC.
