LAMS - Getting Started

The Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) allows the creation of sequences of online collaborative activities incorporating tools such as chat, resource sharing, forums, polling and interactive questions. LAMS sequences are created by means of an intuitive 'drag-and-drop' visual authoring environment. Sequences are easily shared and transferable.

LAMS is suitable for creating activities supporting role plays, enquiry, debate and exploring concepts in depth.

There are a plethora of resources freely available on LAMS, but a good place to begin your search is the FAQ area on the LAMS foundation website: http://lamsfoundation.org/help_faqs.htm

To fully explore what LAMS has to offer, take a look at the LAMS wiki, particularly the left hand column (LAMS for beginners). http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lamsdocs/Home

The LAMS community has many excellent fora that support users of LAMS, and the following forum has two sections for getting started, education and technical.

They also have a repository of ready-to-use LAMS sequences that can be accessed by the public.
