Young men using technology outdoorsTo ensure a balanced and integrated approach to the incorporation of technologies into learning and teaching, the University's Technology in Learning and Teaching Plan [PDF - 307k] has been developed to complement the Learning and Teaching Plan. he use and management of learning technologies at Macquarie University is laid out in the Learning Technologies Policy and associated Procedures.

Macquarie's vision is for current and emerging technologies to be used wisely and effectively to enable and enhance the student experience and cater for diversity through:
- seamless connections between people and places across the globe;
- efficient and effective access to information and resources;
- new ways to participate, interact, communicate and collaborate; and
- creative opportunities to generate, present and disseminate knowledge.

iLearn - the University's Learning Technologies Platform

iLearn is the name for Macquarie University's Learning Management System (LMS) that provides the framework for the courses and tools available to students and staff.  iLearn encompasses elements such as the unit guide and curriculum mapping system (UNITS), and the system for creating online units (iTeach).
